Sweet Macy Arrives

Our little sweet Macy Lou Hughes arrived on Dec 31 at 12:06 am. She weighed 6'7 and was 20 in long with tons of hair.

She is oury little angel. She gave us all a scare but is absolutely perfect. When Macy was born it was quite traumatic for her. She was pure white and covered in blood. My cord to her was completely dry and my placenta had burst during delivery. Macy was worked on by the specialist for about 20 mins before I could hold her.

She made a quick recovery and was absolutely perfect. Macy had low blood sugar and blood platelets. Macy and Dad went to the nicu for a few hours then we were able to all sleep together it was a wonderful night. We were missing Marlee and so excited for them to finally meet. The next morning the Nicu dr said he needed to take Macy back until her blood sugars leveled out. We were so sad but didn't think things were going to go bad like they did in a hurry . The next few days were the scariest days of our lives.

Macy went from low blood sugars to having seziure like symptoms having brain monitors put on her and many more test done to figure out what was going wrong with her. We were hopeful but the drs and nurses weren't sure what was going wrong. Macy received a priesthood blessing from Dad . Uncle Cody and Uncle Danny were also there. We are so thankful for the power of the priesthood. Later that night Macy was given seizure medicine after she had three more episodes. She became very lethargic but didn't have any more episodes. Macy continued to get all types of test and got needles placed in her head to scan her brain. It was so sad to watch her and not be able to cuddle her like we wanted to.Macy was such a trooper and began to slowly recover. She slowly came off all medicine and nursed really well.

. She was then taken out of Nicu and into our room. It was a miracle. She did so well. The next day the Dr came into check her and said it would be a crime to keep her in the hospital she is as alert a 1 month old. Macy has been so perfect in everyway.

She scared us to death but we are forever grateful that she made a full recovery. It has been so wonderful being all together as a family. Marlee loves Macy but hits her occasionally and gets quite jealous.

We are so lucky to have our miracle babies. We love u Marlee and Macy forever and ever.

Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year. We started off the season with our favorite tradition cutting down a real tree. Dad did most of the work. Marlee enjoyed the snow and the razor ride. Thank heavens for the razor. We ended the day by going to the temple and seeing the nativity and all the beautiful lights.

We had our first Christmas party at the gym. It was a blast. Everyone wore an ugly sweater, enjoyed delicious food, stuffed their faces with marshmallows, and sang a few Christmas carols;)

We were able to enjoy my family Christmas party at Grandma Cindy's. It was so fun. Always so special to be with everyone. Sad I didn't get any pics. The Hughes Christmas party was such a great time. Marlee wasn't a huge fan of Santa but everything else was awesome.
Christmas Eve we decided to head to Cody and Amy's so we wouldn't miss out on any of the family fun. I was nervous about it because I was dialated to a 3 and Vegas was not close to my Dr. I'm glad we went and I'm glad I didn't go into labor. We had such a great time. All the cousins were so cute together. Marlee loved opening her presents. Her favorite gifts were her Dora four wheeler, squeaky shoes, stroller, and slinky. At first she was scared riding her four wheeler now she is a wild woman on it. It was such a joy watching her this year. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. Ryan got an AR-15 from Santa. I got everything on my list except the baby;). 2013 Christmas was wonderful. We are truly blessed!!
