Newport Beach Temple

Mindy and I finally visited the Newport Beach Temple. It is a very beautiful temple, and it was so nice to feel the spirit of the temple. Our bishop told us the Newport Beach Temple was paid for by the members in the area. Seeing how Newport Beach is one of the richest areas in the US, I believed him. The fact that he was our bishop also weighed in as to why I believed him :)

How not to use an iron

Ryan found out the hard way that ironing your shirt while wearing it isn't the greatest idea. The problem came when he accidently hit the steam button! It gave him a nasty burn that has turned into a scar. He claims he was trying to flatten out his abs :)

Where to begin the end of Summer has treated us very well. We did a lot of Blending then the fun began. Ryan went on a Elk Hunt with his Dad, John and Cody in New Mexico while the girls(Grandma Jackie,Amy,Kenz,Amber, and our body guards Collin and Howie) came to our house and we went to the happiesst place on earth. I think they should change it to the busiest place on earth haha. I love Disneyland!! We had so much fun Kenzie loved the princesses and Collin boy loved the carousel(He has a super grip! I didnt think we would get him off that ride so so funny). It was so great to be with all the ladies. Howie and Collin were so nice to put up with us. So thankful for such an awesome family! After those adventures we did some more blending then we traveled home to Utah. My mom took us on a fabulous family vacation to Zion Ponderosa. It was Awesome! It was so fun to be with the whole family. It was beautiful and extremely fun! All the kiddos were so cute and wanted to go fast with Uncle Ryan on the razor! Hilarious! Instant tears if they didnt get to ride with us. We all had so much fun from Smores to Zip- lining. Thanks mom and everyone for the awesome time at Ponderosa! Next up Family deer hunt. Nothing better then going to Panguitch to see a few deer, see the wonderful fam, eat some delicious food, and get dirty. We had such a fun time being there. Ry and I took Kolter and Karsten they loved the hunt. They are official hunters after hanging out with Cliff and Grandpa Jack. They loved it! Although Ry only saw a few bucks during the rifle hunt, he was still was able to tag a big one. He went over 2 days without even seeing a deer and then the miracle buck showed up Tuesday night. He was a 25" four point. Jerky anyone? It was so nice to be back home in Utah. Since being home our friends Beau and Jaime came to visit. We went to six flags and a Chargers game. It was so fun to laugh and have a whole lot of fun!! PS dont leave keys or cellphones in pockets while riding any type of rollercoaster!!We look forward to the Holiday Season and the memories it will bring.

Summer Update

Summer has been so good to us!! It was such a treat to be at the Wedding! Amber was so beautiful and Howie is the Man!(he showed Ryan that during the golf competition haha Ry won too). We really enjoyed being with everyone and getting to spend a little time with the Hughes Fam. After the Wedding we went down to St. George and had a super fun swimin' Birthday Bash with all the kiddos! Ever since I was little my mom has given me a swimming birthday party now that Im 26 =)It was so fun for me and all my favorite people(nieces and nephews)!!Thanks Mom your the best! It was nice to see my dad before he packed his bags and moved to WA. We will miss them in Mesquite. We have been working lots and trying to live the Caifornia dream any spare moment we get. We have loved all our Vita-Mix sleepover parties. Duke really loves visitors and parties. We have had tons of fun so far...but to be honest Ry is counting down the days till the Deer Hunts start. Key word Hunts.=)Oh I took Ry and Gabby to there first big Fair experience it was great the new thing is chocolate covered bacon(should that be allowed).Just wanted to do a little update pictures with next post.

Hey Jay!!

So we got to go on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It was so fun. Tickets were free!! The waiting was a little long, but not too bad. Brett Micheals was on the show and the blonde off of 30rock, and some crazy band(wondering how they made it on?) It was quite the experience. Jay seems like such a normal nice dude(he came out wearing a denim button up with levis to say hi to the audience). He seemed a little bored at times, but always smiling or taping his feet. Ry decided that he has the best job in the world. I made my debut on the big screen with Jay because I ran up to him like a crazy fan for a hand shake in the beginning of the show. So Fun!! Next up Ryan is trying out to be the next Simon for American Idol in Hollywood! WOOT Woo!!

Guess who is 30??

Ryan!! Ryan turned 30 on April 6. On his birthday we were schelduled to be in Vegas for work meetings. So I wanted to make his birthday special, so I thought why not a early suprise..?? Thats what we did. I had his buddies from softball come down for a weekend of fun without him knowing. It was so funny because he had planned to play softball but i told he couldn't because I had planned something special for the weekend.. Ry was real sweet and gathered up all his courage and cancelled softball for me. His buddies (Bucky, Beau and Jaime, Tyler and Carly) arrived at 11pm Thursday night. When Ryan opened the door he was so suprised it took him a while to gather his thoughts. We had such a blast. I got us all tickets to the freeway series Dodgers vs Angels. We held up signs for Rys birthday never made it on the megascreen darn it, I think Ry was a little embarrassed by me. We also hit the beach for a mad game of sand volleyball, ate some delicious sprinkle cupcakes, bargained at the swampmeet, got 20$ massages, and blew out thirty candles at PF Changs. It was so fun and hopefully worth missing softball. I love my 30 yr old Ryan!!Im so glad our friends made the trip for the big 3..0..suprise party!! After the big weekend we traveled to Cody and Amys and had a Birthday / Easter Dinner. It was so fun to be with the family in Vegas. The food was delicious it was great to see everyone and spend a evening with the Hughes Fam!!!Collin and Kenzie are so dang cute!!.. and Howie .(thats was for Amber=)

Game Time!!

We are loving California so far. Since the ocean is still freezing we have been enjoying Pro Sports in person. Our first hockey game was the LA Kings at the staple center. We are now hard-core Anaheim Duck fans(because it is only 15mins from home and tickets are cheap=)) Who knew we would love hockey(i just like the popcorn)We converted from being life-time Dodger fans to die-hard Angel fans!!Go MATSUI!! We have also been enjoying Knotts Berry Farm they have pretty good coasters and no lines which is very important . We went to the Farm with Poppa Stu and saw Uncle Johnnys photo from the old days super cool!!Its been a great time getting to know our way around the OC!! We really like our ward in Foothill and so glad that we found out my cousins live right next door!!They are the best! We sure miss our fams..so come visit hint hint.

California here we come!!

We thought about moving to California on a Wednesday for work by the next Tuesday we had our townhouse rented, uhaul packed, addresses changed, and said our good-byes and were off to Cali. It has been quite an adventure. When we were leaving we had so much help neighbors, ward memebers, our wonderful mothers, muscle man Rod, and when we got to California Ry and I unpacked the whole Uhaul by ourselves. Ry said,"well we're not in Utah anymore". I was so tired but just giggled...(like when i was carrying the dresser up the stairs wanted to cry but just giggled). All the Californians have been real nice just not the same as good ole St. George. We have been enjoying it so far.A quick catch up on some of the fun in the sun: Hit the dog beach(Duke loved it but was unsure about the salt water=),Had our first visitors(Rod and the girls,my mom also came,she is such a sweetheart),Camped in the Malibu Mtns while working a Vita-Mix show...Ry tried to burn off my eyebrows with the bonfire, and have enjoyed the 80 degree weather!!! We miss everyone but so far love being California kids!!

Hockey Night

We finally made it out to the new hockey rink for a little recreational skating, but you can tell by the pictures that it got a little competitive. Josh didn't just fall by accident, he got a piece of #44. We had a great time. Laura was moving slowly at first but picked it up. Mindy beat me in our first annual iceathon.(She cheated) Aunt Suzi came equiped with a helmet. We're still not sure if it was for the safety or if she wears it all day. Adam was like Cahz Michael Michaels off of Blades of Glory. Adam, I don't have your freakin hockey stick! Kimmy and Suzi took a hard fall, but not as many as I did trying to figure out how to stop. If you guys haven't gone skating in St. George yet, it's pretty fun. The rink is over by the library.

Santa Came to Town!

Well Christmas for us was wonderful!! We got done working the 23rd and from then on we were enjoying the holidays to the fullest. Started out with the white elephant party which was good fun,somebody lucked out and received a autographed softball picture of Ryan(which he took of himself)it was the#1 gift of the night=)(what a goofball how does he think of stuff like that)Then we were off to the HUGHES house. It was so great..We are so blessed to have such loving families. After we opened all the wonderful gifts(Thank You THank You Thank You),finshed giggling at Kenz and Collin cruisin in the barbie jeep,and Ryan ran out of marshmallows to spit at Amber we were on our way to the happiest place on earth DISNEYLAND!!It was so fun. We got to go to Disney and Sea world. It was so awesome being with the fam and everyone else in the world..hehe so busy, but it didnt matter we had a blast. It was such a memorable Christmas here are a few pics to remember it by..we look forward to 2010 and what it has in store. Sure do love everyone Thanks for making 2009 so special!!
